Description
Blast unit construction allows most common types and sizes of abrasives to be used – i.e. metallic (steel wire blasting medium, blasting grit, steel granulate) and non-metallic (sand, slag, and corundum). The type and size of the abrasive depends on the base material of treated components, their original surface, and the required final coating.
A blast unit attendant, wearing safety jetting devices, controls the blasting process with a pneumatic safety remote control placed at the end of jet hose. This system has the ON/OFF positions, and it controls the closing valve (bell) of the tank filling mouth. If the blast machine, part of which is the blast unit, has an automatic abrasive back haul (blast chambers), the attendant controls the blast unit tank filling with the remote control.
